The Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting a Full Moon & Sunset Lighthouse Climb on Saturday, January 11, 5:30-7:30 p.m. in Carrabelle, Florida. Visitors can climb the tallest lighthouse on the Forgotten Coast and see breathtaking views of the bay under the glow of the sunset and the rising Full Wolf Moon or sit and relax and listen to some wonderful live music. Cost for this event is $8.
“Captain” River Sheridan and his keyboard will be providing this month’s live music on the Keeper’s House front porch. Sheridan is a talented, ninth-grade honor student at Franklin County School. He started playing piano in the first grade with the encouragement of his music teacher, Ms. Judy. For the past five years, he has been studying piano under Frank Miceli. Sheridan has also studied voice under the direction of Tony Partington. He enjoys playing classic rock including the Beatles, Elton John, and Queen.
River is currently raising money to fund a trip to Washington D.C. this summer. He has been selected to attend the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment and tips are greatly appreciated to help fund his effort.
Guests will also enjoy s’mores around the fire pit (weather permitting). The museum and gift shop will also be open for guests’ enjoyment. All climbers must be 44 inches tall. Enjoy this opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of the St. George Sound, Carrabelle Beach, and Dog Island, under the night sky at the Crooked River Lighthouse evening climb.
