The Thomas County Middle School High Techs Lego League Team competed on Saturday, December 7, at the Southwest Regional Competition hosted by Monroe High School in Albany, Georgia. Twenty-two teams were present at the event and split into two groups for competition. The team won best overall, earning the Champions Award, and highest robot performance coming home with two trophies.
The theme this year was City Shapers where teams had to address a problem with a building or public space in their community. They chose to address the lack of equipment and activities for people with special needs at the local parks. These students developed an outdoor sensory wall in collaboration with multiple local experts and are exploring ways to implement their solution.
