Old South Day Parade grand marshals announced

Excitement is in the air in southwest Georgia. Coming on Saturday November 9, is the 43rd Old South Day in Ochlocknee. This year the parade begins at 11 a.m. with the Ochlocknee American Legion leading off. This year’s parade grand marshals are Clarice Jackson and Carol Hayes. Festival officials are honoring these two on behalf of retired teachers in the quaint and unique small town. The parade also features custom and classic cars taking part in the car show from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The day’s events kick off with a sausage and biscuit booth beginning at 6:30 a.m. and cane grinding begins at 8 a.m. Opening at 9 a.m., are vendors offering an array of arts and crafts for sale, antiques museum, country fair, quilt tickets will be available for sale and entertainers will perform throughout the day.
