Nix had been the prosecutor during a recent criminal trial in Decatur County Superior Court.

According to a press release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, South Georgia Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Kevin Chason requested in August that GBI conduct an investigation into alleged jury tampering that occurred during the trial. The investigative case file was then turned over to District Attorney Joe Mulholland for his review.

Arrest warrants were obtained earlier this week, and Nix turned himself into the Decatur County Jail on Wednesday afternoon.

GBI said the case is active and ongoing.
