The first JacketSpace of the new academic year set up in the Thomas County Central High School Media Center Friday, Sept. 27. The school’s version of a MakerSpace promotes student collaboration to learn, invent and explore new ideas while supporting STEM initiatives as well.
Origami, the Japanese art of paper folding, was September’s lesson. Paper sheets in vibrant shades and patterns were on hand for folding. Various books with suggested patterns or shapes assisted students with ideas. Items made included tulips, pinwheels and swans. A new JacketSpace will occur the last Friday of each month.
