- Pastors Josh Bennett and Shane Suggs, surrounded by friends and family, cut the ribbon.
TIFTON — Awaken Church, located at 3690 US Hwy 82 W, held a ribbon cutting on Sept. 25.
Pastor Josh Bennett welcomed the attendees and expressed how thankful the church is for the new location.
“I said these words as we opened our first service in this building, and I think they’re worth repeating today,” he said. “At 3690 US 82 West in Tifton, Georgia is a building where Awaken Church meets. It is not the church because we believe the church cannot be limited to or defined by a building or a space.”
Bennett said that the building, which has a ‘rich history’ in the community, has already been a blessing and he is excited to see how God will continue to use it.
“This building has been providing services and benefits to the residents of Tift County for over 40 years,” he said. “As a 17 year old some 20 years ago, I used to attend auctions at this building when it was Sunbelt Auctions. I could have never dreamed in those days in my wildest imagination that God would allow us to use this kingdom for His glory and His purposes.”
Services are Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
