CHATSWORTH, Ga. — One person is dead and another faces what appears to be non-life-threatening injuries, both shooting victims, following a “domestic-related-type incident” in Murray County Tuesday afternoon, sheriff’s office Chief Deputy Jimmy Davenport said Tuesday evening.
Davenport said deputies responded to a residence off of Sequoyah Drive at about 4:30 p.m., moments after the incident occurred, following a 911 call. The incident resulted in one person being fatally injured and the other person taken to a local hospital, he said.
The investigation, which is being conducted by the sheriff’s office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Region 1 office, is “open and active,” Davenport said. He declined to release the names of the individuals involved.
