Students from three Thomas County Middle School’s Lego League teams recently participated in a once-in-a-lifetime field trip opportunity in downtown Thomasville. The group of twenty-four students met with Thomasville’s City Engineer and Planner while touring downtown’s West Jackson streetscape construction site.

The field trip was used to support this year’s Lego League challenge of “City Shapers.” The theme asks students to think like scientists and engineers in order to solve real-world problems within city development. After getting a behind the scenes look at Thomasville’s engineering departments in action, the students also toured the local landfill.
