Thirty-one students from Thomas County Middle School completed the requirements for the Summer Reading Challenge, and these students were recently treated to an ice cream party in the media center. School administrators congratulated these students on their efforts and encouraged them to keep reading.
One student, Lainey Woodfin, won the drawing for $50 to spend at the first book fair of the year. Mrs. Kathie Craven, media specialist, was very happy with the results of the Summer Reading Challenge for students.

Craven said, “To have such a large number of students read and write about the books they read over the summer is very encouraging. This was not an easy task! We are all so proud of these students.”
Students at TCMS have also been issued a Genre Bingo Challenge. To complete the challenge, students are encouraged to read five books within various genres to complete the Genre Bingo each nine weeks. Upon completion, students are rewarded with a book or school supply of their choice. Students may earn one bingo prize per nine weeks. R. J.
