THOMASVILLE — An incumbent Thomasville City Council member and a political newcomer qualified as November general election candidates.

Jay Flowers, 114 Turnberry Court, qualified to seek re-election to the District 2, Post 1, council seat.

Nate Tyler, 208 Cloverdale Drive, qualified to seek the District 1, Post 1, position held by Council member Terry Scott. Wanda Warren also qualified for the council seat.

As of 2 p.m. Tuesday, no one had qualified for the four Thomasville City Board of Education posts to be decided in November.

Qualifying ends at 4:30 p.m. Friday. Candidates may qualify from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Candidates should qualify with Felicia Brannen, city clerk and election qualifying officer, at City Administrative Offices, 111 Victoria Place.
