THOMASVILLE — On Tuesday, August 6, Check-Mate celebrated the grand opening of a second factory with Governor Brian Kemp, as well as industry and community leaders.
This expansion comes with a $16 million investment and 230 jobs created in Georgia over a five-year time period. The new facility complements the company’s home base factory in Long Island, New York. It increases output and provides consistent production capabilities in the eventuality that either facility’s operations pause during a natural disaster.
Check-Mate Industries’ products are 100 percent designed, developed and manufactured in the United States. Since 1972, the company has operated as a tool and die, stampings and assemblies manufacturer. Its commitment to precision has made it an industry leader, providing components to the nation’s top manufacturers.
From aerospace and automotive to hardware and communications, Check-Mate’s state-of-the-art tool room has the capability to handle just about any project. However, they are best known for life-saving medical and firearms components.
The grand opening cuts the ribbon on opportunities at every level of the company, from administrative staff to skilled technicians and assembly-line jobs.
“We are proud to provide hundreds of skilled labor jobs,” noted President Joe DeBello. “These jobs are not only vital to our nation’s growth, they’re important to the State of Georgia. Workforce training programs like Georgia Quick Start are helping us train a skilled workforce.
Chairman of the Board and CEO Regina Vieweg added, “We are proud to open this factory today and proud to share the platform with Governor Brian Kemp, Imagine Thomasville’s Director Shelley Zorn and the people of Thomasville. Many people have played an important role in this grand opening. We are excited to open our Georgia facility. We have a strong commitment to our customers, our employees and the communities we work in. We know this expansion will be a long-term success story for everyone.”
