Lady Dogs take softball season opener

THOMASVILLE — Allyson Mirick struck out eight over six innings, and the Thomasville Lady Bulldogs opened the 2019 softball season Saturday with a 6-1 win over Echols County.

Kelly Lane McDougald and Gracen Hinson each went 1-for-3 and drove in two runs for the Lady Bulldogs. 

Mirick walked one and allowed one earned run on five hits.

Thomasville was held to three hits but drew four walks.

The Lady Bulldogs host Early County on Tuesday at 5;30 p.m. and visit Brookwood on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
