Surplus 2012 SPLOST revenue earmarked for road work

THOMASVILLE — Property owners and residents of a number of Thomas County roads will benefit from a $1.4 million surplus in 2012 special purpose local option sales tax revenue.
“This represents 10.82 miles,” said Commissioner Mark NeSmith, commission public properties committee chairman.
A lot of people live on the roads, the commissioner added.
Commissioners voted unanimously to apply the money to resurfacing:
• West Pinetree Boulevard between Lower Cairo Road and Tall Pines subdivision
• Rook Road between Ga. 3 and railroad
• Holly Springs Drive, Beargrass Trail, Deer Ridge Trail, Sycamore Road North, South Murphy Road in Holly Springs subdivision
• Crowley Road resurfacing and widening between Fredonia and Hall roads
• Dogwood Drive
• Bay Drive, Chestnut Lane, Spruce Lane, Abbey Drive, Fern Drive, Juniper Drive in Dogwood subdivision
• Powell Drive
• Flicker Trail, Owl Hollow, Whippoorwill Bend, Lakeside Drive, Greenleaf Lane, Sunnybrook Drive, Trailwood Drive in Summerhill subdivision
• Lilliquin Drive, Lake Trace Drive, Strawberry Shortcut in Lake Lilliquin subdivision
