VALDOSTA — A man was arrested after sheriff’s deputies found thousands of dollars worth of drugs and a handgun at a Valdosta residence earlier this week.
Corey Lamar Smith, 36, of Valdosta, is charged with trafficking in illegal drugs, possession of drug-related objects, violation of probation and possession of firearm by a convicted felon, according to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said they found crack cocaine, powder cocaine, MDMA and a semi-automatic handgun inside the home Monday.
Smith was first arrested on a warrant for apprehension, and a search of the Gordon Street home was conducted.
“Smith was charged with the possession of these items,” according to a Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office release. “Members of the FBI Task Force and Georgia Department of Community Supervision officers participated in the apprehension.”
