The first class, “Cooking Basics 1: Side Dishes,” will be held at 6 p.m. May 21. The library called it “a great chance to learn about various kitchen tools, how to measure for cooking and baking, and every day substitutions/equivalents that are good to know in the kitchen! We’ll even make some cowboy salsa, strawberry fluff and banana pudding.” The cost is $5 per person, and there’s a class minimum of six people.

“Managing Your Money: Part 1 Budgeting” will be held at 6 p.m. June 18. “Managing personal finances can be overwhelming,” the library press release said, “but we are here to help!” The cost is free.

“Managing Your Money: Part 2 Bank Accounts” will be held at 6 p.m. July 16. “Balancing your checkbook seems like an old-fashioned task, but it is still something you need to do,” the library said. “Balancing a checkbook helps you manage your money and to find mistakes quickly. Learn tips to help establish this good financial habit to ensure your financial well-being.” The cost is free.
