The Thomas County Central High School boys varsity track team finished third last week in a closely competitive Region 1-AAAAA finals. 

Advancing to the state sectionals were:

Jatonee Thomas — first place, 400 meter dash

Ethan Phillips — first place, 300 meter hurdles; second place, 110 hurdles

Trandis Wright — runner up in long jump and triple jump

Ra’shun Jackson — runner up in shot put and discus

Tykeem Wallace — second place in the 100 meter dash; third place in the 200 meter dash; fourth place in long jump

Jabias Kerbo — third place, 400

Thomas, Wright, Wallace and Jordan Jones — second in the 4×100 meter relay

Thomas, Kerbo, Phillips and Wright — third in the 4×400 relay.

Coaches are Mikeal Lovejoy, Darius Sapp, and Johnny Cooksey.
