Bulldogs wrap up home slate with win over Brookwood

THOMASVILLE — The Thomasville Bulldogs scored six runs in the first inning and never looked back, cruising to a 12-1 non-region baseball win over Brookwood School on Monday.

Seth Kipper and Harrison Stewart each drove in three runs, and Dalton Dollar was 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Maylon Cochran, Will Wetherington, Jay Thomas and Jimmy Cipriani also each added one RBI.

Kipper’s two-run single capped the six-run outburst in the first inning.

Bulldogs hitters accounted for 10 hits, drew six walks and also were hit twice.

Lance Wortman’s single brought in Brookwood’s lone run, after the Warriors loaded the bases on three walks. Wortman was 2-for-3 as the Warriors were limited to three hits.

Dalton Dollar went the first 2 1/3 innings for the Bulldogs, striking out one while walking one and allowing one hit. Jacob Bradshaw went the next 2 1/3, allowing a run on one hit and one walk while striking out two. Ben Rawlings went the final one-third of an inning, yielding a hit and two walks.

Thomasville, now 21-5 and ranked No. 5 in Class AA by the Georgia Dugout Preview, visits Thomas County Central on Friday.
