Bulldogs blast Brooks in sweep

The Thomasville Bulldogs scored 32 runs in 10 innings to complete a doubleheader and shutout sweep Friday of Brooks County and sweep the three-game Region 1-AA baseball series.
In the nightcap, Jacob Bradshaw allowed two hits and struck out five in four innings as the Bulldogs scored 15 runs on 10 hits.
Hurston Waldrep went 3-for-3 with a homer, a triple and four RBIs to lead the Bulldogs at the plate. Bradshaw went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Harrison Stewart and Dalton Dollar also had two RBIs each. Gabe Duncan was 1-for-3 with a double, and Miles Green and Ben Rawlings each drove in a run.
In the 17-0 win in the opener, the Bulldogs piled up 20 hits to back Waldrep and Harrison Vance.
Maylon Cochran, who scored three runs, and Jimmy Cipriani each went 3-for-4, Bradshaw and Seth Kipper went 2-for-3 and Miles Green went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Jay Thomas came off the bench to hit a two-run homer, and Kipper, Stewart, Duncan and Jess Eason each picked up two RBIs.
Thirteen Bulldogs batters collected at least one hit.
Waldrep went the first five innings, striking out 10 while walking two and giving up two hits. Vance pitched a scoreless sixth, allowing two hits.
Thomasville, now 13-4, will travel to Early County on Tuesday for a 5:30 p.m. The Bulldogs will host Early in a doubleheader Thursday, with the first game scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
