UPDATE FRIDAY AFTERNOON: On Friday, March 15, the GBI obtained arrest warrants for Jonathan Vann and Keyante Greene in relation to the deaths of three missing people in Berrien and Atkinson counties.

The suspects were already in custody in connection with the case.

Vann is charged with two counts of malice murder in connection to the deaths of Wayne Hackle Jr. and Bobbie Lynn Moore in Atkinson County, according to the GBI.

In Berrien County, Vann is charged with one count of malice murder for the death of Mercedes Hackle and for arson in connection with a burned vehicle, the GBI reports.

Greene is charged with two counts of concealing the death of another person in relation to Wayne Hackle Jr. and Bobbie Lynn Moore in Atkinson County; Greene is also charged with one count of concealing the death of another person in relation to Mercedes Hackle in Berrien County, authorities said.

UPDATE Friday morning: A second person — a 25 year old — has been arrested in connection with the recovery of three bodies along the Berrien County and Atkinson County line, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. 

The Valdosta Daily Times is awaiting official charges being filed and released to the public before identifying the people being held as suspects in the case.

Efforts are still underway Friday morning to confirm the identities of the three recovered bodies.

UPDATE Thursday evening: A third body was found Thursday in this case, according to law-enforcement officials.

NASHVILLE — A Berrien County man has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of three people and the deaths of two of them, according to authorities.

A 20-year-old Nashville man was arrested Wednesday, according to a statement from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Official charges have not been released for the suspect.

The two deceased are not yet positively identified, while a third person is still missing, according to the statement.

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office asked the GBI to assist with the missing persons investigation following the discovery of a vehicle on fire.

At 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, the sheriff’s office responded to the scene of a vehicle on fire in the area off Ga. 135 at the Alapaha River near the Atkinson County line. As a result of the investigation, it was determined the car was being used by Bobbie Lynn Moore, 22, according to a GBI statement.

Further investigation determined Moore, Ronnie Wayne Hackle Jr., 27, and Mercedes Maelyn Hackle, 17, were not responding to attempts to contact them, according to the statement.

The GBI, with the assistance of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, Atkinson County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, have since located the remains of two individuals whose identities have not yet been confirmed.

The remains are being sent to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Macon for autopsy and identification, authorities said.
