Richard Livingston Hadley

Richard L. Hadley, born December 2, 1940, Thomasville, Ga.,was the youngest son of the late Dennis and Rosetta Hadley, transitioned on February 9, 2019. A faithful steward and longtime member of Ochlocknee Missionary Baptist Church, a talented musician and educator, Richard graduated from Douglas High School,1958, attended FAMU on a music scholarship and earned a BS Degree, he also earned a Master of Education Degree from Wayne State University (MI). Richard’s teaching career spanned North Carolina, Michigan and Georgia. He is survived by his loving wife Lauretta Hadley from Thomasville, Ga.; Daughters, Rose Hadley Washington (Fredric), Jennifer Hadley Washington (Alfred) and Hope Hadley Rollins (Christopher); Stepdaughters, Rachel Reed, Donna Anderson (Frank), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful friends; Siblings, Estella Hadley Groover, (Henry, deceased), Delano Hadley Robinson, (Mack, deceased) Lula Hadley Walden (George, deceased), James “Jack” Hadley (Christine), Agnes Hadley Adams (Rev. Dr. Charles), Dr.Marie Hadley Robinson (Emmett, deceased), Naomi Hadley Monroe (Jerry, deceased), and Lillie Mae Hadley Witherspoon. Four brothers preceding him in death;Minister John Dennis Hadley (Viola, deceased; later married Virginia), Lloyd C.Hadley (Annie Mae, deceased, later married Sadie, deceased),Morris B.Hadley (Raphine, deceased; later married Alice and Hubert Hoover Hadley (Cynthia). Public viewing Thursday, 3:00-7:00pm. Family will receive friends 5pm-7pm. Musical celebration begins at 6pm-7pm.at the funeral home. Service of Memory Celebrating the Life of Richard Livingston Hadley will be held at Ochlocknee Missionary Baptist Church Friday, February 15, 2019 12 noon, 521Highway 319 South, Beachton.
