JENNINGS, Fla. — Jennings Police Chief Vincent Robinson is back to work.

Robinson was suspended last Thursday pending a meeting with the Town Manager George Glover and Mayor John Prine.

“The only thing I will say is Vinnie and I had a meeting and everything is back to normal,” Glover said Thursday morning.

Robinson returned to work Wednesday.

The suspension came after the Jennings Town Council meeting last Thursday.

Hamilton County resident Robert Marvin alleged during the meeting that Robinson, while in line for Burger King at State Road 6, paid for Marvin’s 18-year-old daughter’s meal in the drive-thru and gave her his card with the message to call him.

Robinson denied telling the daughter to call him. He said he just wanted to pay for the meal because somebody had paid for his. 

“That is not true,” Robinson said. “I would never do that. I have young daughters myself. I give my card to everyone.”

Robinson and Town Manager George Glover met following the council meeting. Robinson was sent home for the rest of the evening and later suspended until Wednesday. 

Glover said Robinson was “very disrespectful and insubordinate” following the council meeting.
