Snipes resigns from Jennings council

- Billy Snipes, being sworn in after being reelected last June, has resigned from the Jennings Town Council due to health issues.
JENNINGS, Fla. — Billy Snipes has resigned his seat on the Jennings Town Council.
At the Jan. 3 meeting, Town Manager George Glover announced Snipes had turned in a resignation letter effective Jan. 2.
According to the letter, Snipes resigned due to health issues.
“I feel it is best for me to step down at this time,” Snipes states in the letter. “Thank you for the opportunity given me to serve on this board for the Town of Jennings.”
He has served on the council for six years.
Glover said the council will appoint someone to fill the vacancy by the February meeting.
