TIFTON — A tornado watch is in effect for Tift County and surrounding counties, according to the National Weather Service.

The watch is in effect until 2 a.m.

A tornado watch indicates that weather conditions are favorable for tornado development.

Along with Tift County, a tornado watch is in effect for the following counties: Baker, Ben Hill, Berrien, Brooks, Calhoun, Clay, Colquitt, Cook, Crisp, Decatur, Dodge, Dougherty, Early, Grady, Irwin, Lanier, Lee, Lowndes, Miller, Mitchell, Quitman, Randolph, Seminole, Telfair, Terrell, Thomas, Turner, Wilcox and Worth.
