TIFTON — Landfill changes are set for discussion at the Oct. 1 Tifton City Council workshop meeting, according to the meeting agenda.

The council will hear recommendations for landfill operational changes and increasing the landfill tipping fees.

Council members will also discuss amending code enforcement and solid waste ordinances to address “special pick-up issues.”

The council will review several bids, including bids for Tift Avenue force main relocation, Goff Street and Fulwood Park improvements and fire hydrant replacement.

A public hearing will also be held for amending the city’s code to reflect the departmental name change from Environmental Management to Community Development.

The TCC workshop meeting starts at 5:30 p.m., Oct. 1, at Tifton City Hall at 130 E. 1st Street.
