JENNINGS, Fla. — A former Jennings police officer has been charged with sexual battery following an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, 24-year-old Ty Garmany, of Jasper turned himself in on an active warrant for sexual battery by a law enforcement officer on Sept. 18.

He was released a few hours later.

According to the report, an investigation began in December 2017 into two Jennings police officers who were accused of raping a woman. 

FDLE declined comment due to an ongoing investigation. 

The officers are no longer part of the department.
