OCILLA — A death investigation is underway in Ocilla, according to our news partners at WALB.

A 41-year-old woman was found unresponsive at a house in the 500 block of South Irwin Avenue just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, according to Special Agent in Charge JT Ricketson with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The GBI said The Ocilla Police Department requested a GBI crime scene specialist to work the scene and a special agent to do interviews of the people living in the residence.

GBI agents are working to interview the residents and an autopsy will be performed later this week by a GBI medical examiner to determine the cause of death.
