TIFTON — Tift County volleyball continued its successful 2018 season Thursday, splitting road matches with Georgia Christian and Valdosta.
Head coach Caleb Dawson said the Lady Devils defeated Georgia Christian in three sets: 25-17, 15-25 and 25-17.
“We really stayed hot after the second game against Valdosta and carried on that momentum into the match with GC,” he said. “I love watching this team learn to play as a team.”
In the opener, Valdosta defeated Tift in straight sets, 25-11 and 28-26.
“The first game may have been our worst performance of the year,” said Dawson, “followed by our best performance. We really bounced back.”
Tift’s junior varsity lost two close matches to Valdosta, also played Thursday.
The Lady Devils will play Thursday at Brooks County and will play Saturday at Lowndes against Lowndes, Camden County and Colquitt County.
