TIFTON — The Tift County Recreation Department will open up fall sports registration Monday. Registration for youth flag football, youth tackle football, youth cheerleading and youth coed soccer will run until Aug. 17.

Registration fees are $50 for Tift County residents and $62.50 for those not living in Tift County. Multiple registrants in the same household receive a 10 percent discount.

Flag football is open for ages 5-6. Practices are to be held 2-3 times during the preseason and 1-2 times after the season begins Sept. 24. No camp or evaluation will be held. Parents and/or guardians are responsible for providing players’ pants or shorts. Picture day is Sept. 22.

Tackle football is for ages 7-12. Practice is 2-3 times per week during the preseason and 1-2 times after the season starts Sept. 24. Parents and/or guardians will be responsible for providing black or white football pants with pads. There will be a mandatory evaluation at E.B. Hamilton Complex at 6 p.m. for 7/8 PeeWee Aug. 20, 9/10 Mite Aug. 21 and 11/12 Midget Aug. 28. Team selections will be the week of Aug. 29. Picture day is Sept. 22.

Youth cheerleading is open for ages 5-12. Practices are 2-3 times per week during the preseason and 1-2 times per week during the seasons, which start Sept. 24. Picture day is Sept. 22.

Youth coed soccer is open for ages 4-13. Practices will be 2-3 times per weeks in the preseason and 1-2 times per week once the season begins Oct. 1. Divisons are U6, U10, U12/U14 and score will not be kept for U6. There is a mandatory evaluation at Optimist Park and teams will be selected the week of Sept. 11.

The age control date is Sept. 1 for football and cheerleading and Aug. 1 for soccer.

Registration can be done at the Tift County Recreation Department or online at https://secure.rec1.com/GA/tift-county-recreation/catalog. First time athletes are asked to register in person so a birth certificate can be filed.
