THOMASVILLE — A Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) call center is searching Thomasville for a site.
A Tallahassee, Florida, resident contracts with the DNR for a call center for customer service in obtaining fishing and hunting licenses. The Thomasville call center is owned by the same person.

The call center coming Thomasville is now in Atlanta, said Shelley Zorn, Thomasville Payroll Development (PDA) executive director, who made the announcement at a recent PDA meeting.
“They needed to be close to their Tallahassee office,” Zorn said.
A similar DNR call center is in Tallahassee.
The call center owner prefers to locate in downtown Thomasville. The facility needs 4,000 square feet, Zorn said.
“They haven’t zeroed in on the (Thomasville) location,” Zorn told PDA members.
The call center will provide about 25 full- and part-time jobs.

“I think they will be a good partner for us,” Zorn said, pointing out the part-time positions would be good opportunities for students enrolled at Thomasville’s two colleges and looking for work.
