VALDOSTA — Downtown Valdosta Restaurant Week is approaching.

Participating restaurants, including 306 North, Steel Magnolias and Bleu Cafe, will offer a “signature taste and pour,” said Missy Smith, Main Street program coordinator.

The $20 entry free will consist of a food sample and a paired beverage sample from the eateries.

“It kind of gives you a snapshot of what each restaurant (has) and what they’ll be doing for the week,” Smith said.

Restaurants will showcase their menus and prices for the remainder of Restaurant Week, and Azalea City Jazz Quartet will perform during the yearly event.

“Food lovers may simply dine out at as many participating restaurants as they (like) during Restaurant Week, explore new dining opportunities or enjoy old favorites,” according to organizers.

There is no ticket necessary to visit the participating locations July 17-21 for a prix fixe, or a three-course meal with a set fee, Smith said. Prices are at the discretion of the restaurants.

“It gives you a taste of what all the restaurants have downtown,” Smith said. “It’s Valdosta at its finest.”

Restaurant Week menu items, along with the restaurants’ regular items, will be available during the prix fixe lunch or dinner, she said.

Covington’s Dining and Catering, Jessie’s Restaurant and Catering and tentatively Nette’s Eatery will be available for lunch, Smith said.

All others, including Birdie’s Market and Catering and Bleu Pub, will be open during dinner. Visit valdostamainstreet.com for more information.
