MOULTRIE, Ga. — Colquitt County drug agents seized methamphetamine and weapons and made four arrests during recent operations in which they were seeking wanted individuals.

At 11:30 a.m. Wednesday officers with the Moultrie-Colquitt County Drug Enforcement Team went to 808 Causey Road looking for Ronald Cory Casteel, Sgt. Justin Lindsay said. At the time, there was an outstanding arrest warrant for Casteel on a probation violation charge.

“We were able to locate him inside the residence,” Lindsay said. “Upon his arrest he was found to be in possession of a firearm, with him being a convicted felon.”

William Massey, who also lived at the residence, was found to have suspected methamphetamine.

“He (Massey) also was in possession of a 16-gauge sawed-off shotgun,” Lindsay said. “He also was in possession of an SKS rifle.”

Prior to the operation police had received several calls about the residence, he said.

“We’ve had complaints on that residence in the past, so we were following up on complaints of drug sales and drug activity at that residence.”

Casteel, 38, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. At the time he was arrested Casteel had a handgun, Lindsay said.

Massey, 48, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of drug-related objects.

At about 7 p.m. Thursday officers with the agency went to the 150 Peachtree St., Ellenton, residence of Jamie Lowery.

Drug agents were looking to arrest Lowery on a drug charge related to a federal warrant, Lindsay said. Also located inside was another resident, Ashley Richardson.

“At the time of his arrest a quantity of methamphetamine was located that they were in possession of,” Lindsay said.

Lowery, 42, and Richardson, 31, were each charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug-related objects.

Federal law enforcement has taken Lowery into custody.
