TIFTON — Tift Regional Medical Center unveiled a new mobile healthcare clinic on May 8.

The mobile clinic will help provide services to those unable to access healthcare due to a lack of transportation or financial resources, according to a press release from TRMC. It will also help those who don’t have access to primary care and are going to the emergency room for routine health care.

The funds for the clinic were raised at the TRMC Foundation’s Havana Nights Gala on April 14.

Executive director of the TRMC Foundation, Mandy Brooks, gave tours of the bus.

The bus has two exam rooms, two waiting rooms, a nurse station and a restroom and will employ four employees: a physician, a nurse, a paramedic and a security officer.

The clinic will offer wellness checks, sick visits, immunizations, screenings, referrals to specialists, chronic disease management and access to other resources, said Brooks.

The mobile clinic is expected to be in service in October.
