Woman killed in Clyattville wreck

CLYATTVILLE — A person was killed in a wreck on Georgia State Route 31 near Olympia Road Tuesday, according to the Georgia State Patrol Post 31 Wednesday.

Eloise Perry Roberts, 76, of Lake Park was headed northbound while driving a 2014 Chevrolet Impala, the release states. Roberts was found deceased on the scene, according to the GSP. Next of kin has been notified of her passing.

Morgan E. Harlan, 55, of Pinetta, Fla., was headed southbound while driving a 2014 Nissan Frontier pick-up, according to the GSP report.

The two vehicles had a head-on collision at a curve in the road near Olympia Road after the Impala, heading northbound, traveled into the opposite lane of traffic at approximately 5:30 p.m., the report states.

Harlan was transported to South Georgia Medical Center for his injuries, according to the release.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and air bags were deployed, the release states. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash. 

It is unknown why the Impala crossed the center line, according to the GSP report.
