Suspended Worth County sheriff turns himself in

SYLVESTER — Suspended Worth County Sheriff Jeffrey Hobby turned himself in at the Worth County Jail at approximately 5:40 p.m. on Friday, March 9, according to a Georgia Bureau of Investigation press release.
Hobby has been charged with 66 counts of eavesdropping and surveillance which invades privacy of another, the release states.
The arrest warrants cover acts that occurred from July 13, 2017 through February 26, 2018, according to the release. Hobby is also charged with one count of violation of oath by public officer.
Hobby will be housed at the Lowndes County Jail pending his first appearance hearing before the Worth County Magistrate Judge on Monday, March 12, the release states.
