Valdosta gas prices rise again

VALDOSTA — The price of gasoline inched up again last week in Valdosta, according to statistics.
The average price of a gallon of gas in Valdosta Sunday was $2.45, up a penny from the previous week, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
The highest price reported Sunday in the city was $2.35 a gallon at a West Hill Avenue store, according to the price tracking website gasbuddy.com. Not all retailers’ prices are reported to gasbuddy, which depends on volunteer reporters.
Nationally, the average price of gasoline was $2.58 a gallon, four cents higher than seven days earlier, while Georgia’s average of $2.48 was three cents higher during the same period, according to the auto club.
In Friday’s market action, benchmark U.S. crude rose 63 cents, or 1 percent, to $66.14 a barrel in New York. Brent crude, used to price international oils, added 10 cents to $70.52 per barrel in London.
Wholesale gasoline picked up 2 cents to $1.94 a gallon. Heating oil rose 2 cents to $2.14 a gallon. Natural gas rose 9 cents, or 2.5 percent, to $3.53 per 1,000 cubic feet.
