Local pawn shop burglarized

TIFTON — A local business was burglarized last week, according to a report from the Tifton Police Department.
Officers responded to a report of a burglary at Tift Area Pawn Shop (TAPS), located in the 400 block of West 7th Street, at approximately 8:40 a.m. on Jan. 12.
The burglary had apparently taken place the night before, according to the report.
The report stated that the burglar or burglars gained access to the business through the roof.
Once inside, the burglars went through the entire store, tossing items on the floor and making off with several guns.
According to the report, at least $3,000 worth of firearms were taken.
