CHESS takes one-point win

TIFTON — CHESS Academy took a hard-earned victory Tuesday at Byne Academy, 59-58.
Head coach Jason Bishoff said the Knights had an eight-point lead in the second quarter over Byne, but fell behind by 13 points with seven minutes to go in the game.

Bishoff said CHESS cut the margin to eight, then went into a full-court press defense. The Knights took the lead, fell behind again, then went ahead again with 1:45 to play.
Seth Bishoff scored 21 points to lead the Knights, with Austin Wiley scoring 12, Ernest Williams adding 11 and Braxton Culpepper scoring 10 points.
In the B-team game, CHESS fell, 32-29, to Byne.
Josh Hall’s nine points led the Knights, Culpepper contributing eight.
CHESS teams are scheduled for games tonight against Providence, Fla.
