TIFTON — The Tifton Elks Lodge will host the annual Elks National Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest Saturday.

A free throw shooting competition, the contest will begin at 1 p.m. at the Tift County Recreation Department, 401 N. Victory Dr., and will be free of charge to participants.

The Hoop Shoot is open to boys and girls ages 8-13, with players divided up into different groups based on age and gender. Registration starts at 9 a.m. A birth certificate is required.

Each group winner will advance to the district competition, which is to take place Jan. 27 at Albany’s Covenant Presbyterian Church Gym.
