• 12:15 p.m. — The Thomasville Rotary Club meets at the Plaza.
• 5:45 p.m. — Early bird Bingo games, sponsored by the Kouncil Club of Thomasville, are at St. Augustine Catholic Church social hall. Regular Bingo sessions begin at 6:45. Prizes awarded and proceeds go to local charities of southwest Georgia.
Friday
• 12:30 p.m. — Thomasville Kiwanis Club meets at the Plaza Restaurant.
• 5 p.m. — Members of the Civic Garden Club are holding a community Kwanzaa celebration at Douglass High School auditorium. Dinner will be served and attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable item for donation to the Thomas County Food Bank and wear African-inspired attire. For reservations, call (229) 558-9511.
Tuesday

• The Thomas County Republican Party meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at noon at Granddaddy’s Barbecue on Smith Avenue.
• The Thomas County Democratic Party meets at 6 p.m. the first Tuesday of every month in the Thomas County Library’s Flipper Room. The meeting is open to the public.
• The Parents Advocacy meeting will be held on Mondays, 6 p.m., at the Frederick Douglass Complex Library. All who have a vested interest in the Thomasville City Schools system and taxpayers are encouraged to attend.
• The Thomasville Aviation Museum’s “Power of the Past” exhibit, featuring antique aircraft engines, is open each Sunday from 1-6 p.m. at the Thomasville Regional Airport. Appointments can be made by calling 226-3010. No admission charge.
• The Southwest Georgia Xtreme Radio Control Club maintains a model air field and pond on Mitchell Suber Road in Coolidge. Chartered under the Academy of Model Aeronautics, it promotes the recreational use of all types of radio-controlled vehicles including aircraft, float planes, drones, sailboats, power boats and ATVs. • The Country Hoedown is at the corner of Sapp and Burnum (Mt. Olive Road), in Pelham every Friday from 7 to 11 p.m. There is live country music for line and couple dancing with no door charge, but donations are welcome. For information, call 683-3496 or 294-4451.
• The Thomasville Multiple Sclerosis self-help group meets at 6 p.m., the third Tuesday of every month at the Plaza. • VFW Post 8433 meets at 7:30 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at Roddenbery Memorial Library Annex in Cairo.
• Ezekiel Lodge No. 71 F&AM PHA meets at 7:30 p.m., the second and fourth Saturday at 313 Third St., S.W. in Cairo.

The Thomasville Missionary Baptist Association is holding a watch night service at 9:30 p.m., Dec. 31 at Providence M.B. Church.
Candlelight service
Ochlocknee United Methodist Church is holding a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 6 p.m., Sunday.
Celebration

Christmas Eve service
Dr. Karl Barton’s Music’s Delight Ensemble will be featured at the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at Boston Presbyterian Church in Boston.
Music will begin shortly before the opening of the service at 6 p.m., Sunday. The program will also consist of appropriate Scripture readings and seasonal carols. The Rev. Donald West will conduct the service assisted by the church choir.
The church was established in 1836, and is called the Mother of the Presbyterian Church in southwest Georgia because of its leadership in establishing a number of other congregations. The Boston Presbyterian Church is the oldest continuing house of worship in Thomas County. The service is open to the public.
