Valdosta gas prices slide again

VALDOSTA — Lowndes County gasoline prices continued their downward trend during the past week, according to statistics.
The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in Valdosta Sunday was $2.32, down from $2.35 the previous week, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report.
The lowest price for gasoline in the city reported Sunday was $2.21 a gallon at a retailer on U.S. 84, according to the price-tracking website gasbuddy.com.
The highest price Sunday was $2.94 a gallon at a store on North Patterson Street, according to gasbuddy.
Nationally, the average gasoline price was $2.57 a gallon Sunday, up three cents from seven days earlier, while Georgia’s average of $2.36 was down three cents during the same period, according to the auto club.
In Friday market action, Brent crude, used to price international oils, added 31 cents to $63.86 a barrel in London.
Hess gained 95 cents, or 2.2 percent, to $44.40 and Marathon Oil added 25 cents, or 1.7 percent, to $15.13.
In other energy trading, wholesale gasoline added 2 cents to $1.79 a gallon. Heating oil rose 2 cents to $1.95 a gallon. Natural gas sank 16 cents, or 5.2 percent, to $2.81.
