UDC donates book in honor of Ponder

To show appreciation for presenting a program at the John B. Gordon chapter 383 United Daughters of the Confederacy meeting, President Mary Margaret Quiggle donated a book in honor of chapter Historian Dianne Ponder to the Thomas County Public Library, on behalf of the chapter.
The name of the book was Library of Congress Illustrated Timeline of the Civil War . The author is Margaret E. Wagner and the Introduction is written by Gary W. Gallagher.
This well-written book contains more than 350 photographs, maps, manuscripts, lithographs and original drawings.
Several of the drawings are considered rare and never have been published before.
This resource presents evidence for both sides that struggled for four years deciding the fate of the United States.
