FALMOUTH, Fla. — Two teenagers suffered serious injuries when their UTV overturned Sunday afternoon.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Live Oak teenagers, as well as a 9-year-old, also from Live Oak, were riding on a Polaris utility vehicle in a farm field in western Suwannee County around 3:38 p.m. on the edge of a dry pond.
The FHP report states that the UTV was being driven too fast for the conditions and was driving over very bumpy ground when it spun counter clockwise.
The right side of the UTV dug into the soft ground and overturned onto its right side, according to the report.
The 15-year-old female driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville.
Carson Chauncey, 19, also suffered serious injuries and was taken to Shands Regional Medical Center in Live Oak. The 9-year-old girl, who sustained minor injuries, also was taken to Shands Live Oak.
According to FHP, none of the injured were wearing helmets.
