Penny Thornton and Tracy Harper both of Evans, Georgia announce their engagement.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Jimmy and Helen Flowers of Seale, Alabama.

She is a 1979 graduate of Smiths Station High School and a 1984 graduate of Columbus State University. She works in the Georgia Office of Student Achievement.

Harper is the son of the late Raymond and Carolyn Harper of Thomasville.

He is a 1977 graduate of Central High School in Thomasville and a 1981 graduate of Duke University. He is retired from the federal government.

A wedding is planned for noon, Nov. 18, 2017 at Savannah Rapids Pavilion, 3300 Evans to Locks Road, Martinez, Georgia.
