Canine Services Training Center holding fundraising kayak race

LIVE OAK — The Canine Services Training Center is hosting a two-day, 100-mile kayak race fundraiser this weekend.

The EnduroYak 100 Benefit Challenge will begin Saturday at the Suwannee River State Park and will conclude Sunday at Manatee Springs State Park in Chiefland. The race will have an overnight stop at Ivey Memorial Park in Branford.

The challenge begins with a 6:30 a.m. launch time Saturday with a mandatory check-in at the Hal Adams Bridge. Kayakers must check-in at Ivey Memorial Park by 7:30 p.m. Saturday or be disqualified.

The Sunday launch time in Branford is also at 6:30 a.m. with a mandatory check-in at Log Landing before continuing on to the finish line at Manatee Springs.

There is a $100 entry fee with the winner, who will be announced at 8 p.m. Sunday, taking home $200. The entry fee includes meals both nights and kayak rental and shuttle from Manatee Springs State Park back to Suwannee River State Park.

The Canine Services Training Center is a non-profit organization that services first responders and military veterans that need a service dog. The training for them is free. This training takes approximately four months to accomplish.
