Thomasville 6, Clinch County 2
The Bulldogs took a short break from its region slate on Monday and came away with a win against Clinch County.
Thomasville scored four runs in the game’s first two innings of play. Elli Stone started her team off with an RBI double in the first inning. In the second, Malorie Turnbull scored on a single by Hayley Palmer to extend the lead to 2-0. After an RBI groundout from Alyson Mirick and a bases-loaded walk to Mallory Fletcher, the Bulldogs were positioned well for a win early.
The Panthers scored their only two runs in the fourth and fifth, but Thomasville was able to tack on two more in the fourth on an error to negate the damage.
Brooks County 8, Brookwood 5
The Warriors hung in with the visiting Trojans but could not pull out a win on Monday. Dara Moore hit a home run in the first inning to put the Warriors up 1-0, but Brooks answered in the bottom half.
Both teams were tied at 2-2 to begin the fourth, but Brookwood took the lead back at 5-2. A big top of the sixth inning from the Trojans put them up 6-5, and Brooks held on their lead for the win.
