The Friends of the Library invite you to their Fall Membership Meeting on Tuesday, September 19 at 6 p.m. with Wiley Grady, Brian Hermann, and Don Sims presenting “What’s New in Thomas County.”

One Book Week 2017 is right around the corner! Check out the events to celebrate this year’s One Book Author Terry Kay and his work “To Dance with the White Dog.”

• Thursday, Sept. 28, 6:30-8:30 p.m. — One Word music and poetry at Grassroots

• Monday, Oct. 2, 4-5 p.m. — Art Show & Contest: Check out Artwork from local schools and recognize winners.

• Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. — Family Night at Thomas County Public Library! See the movie “To Dance with the White Dog,” based on this year’s One Book selection. Children’s activities will be available in the story room while parents view the film.

• Wednesday, Oct. 4 at noon — Lunch & Learn at Studio 209! BYO Lunch.

• Thursday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. — Meet author Terry Kay as he presents his work at Thomas County Schools Auditorium (across from Wendy’s). Tickets are $10 and for sale at Thomas County Public Library, The Bookshelf, and www.onebookthomascounty.org 

Join us for Adult Coloring Club on Friday, Sept. 29 at 10 a.m.!

“We’re Bookin’ It” will meet at the library on Monday, October 16, at 5 p.m. in the Conference Room. Visitors and new members are always welcome. “Fates & Furies” by Lauren Groff will be discussed.

Come visit our Book Sale Room on Tuesdays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Your donations benefit your library!

Toddler Time will be back in August! Children ages 2-4 years old can enjoy stories, songs and fingerplays every Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. Our next get-together will be on September 21.

Cuddle Time will be back next month every Friday at 10:30 a.m.! Cuddle Time is for infants from birth to 24 months of age and their caregivers. Enjoy nursery rhymes, fingerplays, board books, bounces, and activity songs with your baby! We will meet again on September 22.

Get ready for LEGO Club! Join us every Thursday at 4 p.m. in the Storyroom and build something awesome with your friends! 

Check out Bee 4 the Classroom at the Downtown Library the second Tuesday of each month from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.! Our next meeting will be October 17. Sponsored by the Thomas County School System Striving Readers Grant.
