VALDOSTA – More than 14,000 Georgia Power customers are without electricity in the Valdosta area, with more than 46,000 outages reported in the immediate South Georgia area at about 10 a.m., according to the Georgia Power outage map.

Colquitt EMC doesn’t have specific numbers but has confirmed it is experiencing “widespread outages.”

Power officials have issued statements that utility crews are working sites but are doing so in a manner to keep personnel safe.
