UDC board, committees meet to plan the year

To have a successful organization, there have to be dedicated people to lead the group and plan ahead. That is what the John B. Gordon Chapter 383 United Daughters of the Confederacy did.
A meeting of the board and committees was held at the Thomas County Public Library to make plans for the coming 2017-18 year. This chapter was organized on May 9,1900 and is still going strong.

The meeting was led by Third Vice President Sheila Tucker, under the direction of chapter President Mary Margaret Quiggle. By-laws, as well as new projects, were discussed. Each member in attendance received their own informational packet to help guide them with their job throughout the year. Delegates and alternates were voted on for the upcoming Georgia Division UDC Convention, which will be held in Macon during October. Refreshments were furnished by Quiggle. The objectives of the UDC are historical, educational, memorial, benevolent and patriotic.
