TIFTON — Waffle House is offering $5000, in addition to the City of Tifton’s $1000, for information that leads to the arrest, prosecution, and conviction of the people responsible for the Saturday morning murder of Waffle House employee Jesse Hall, according to a press release from the Tifton Police Department.
At approximately 1 a.m. on August 5, officers with the TPD, along with Tift County deputies responded to an armed robbery in progress call at the Waffle House located at 706 West 7th Street.
According to an earlier press release provided by Lieutenant Lee Dunston with the TPD Criminal Investigation Devision, it appeared that Hall and another employee encountered two would-be robbers in the parking lot.
One of them shot Hall and the other physically assaulted the female employee, who has not been identified at this time.
The two men ran from the scene toward the area of Timmons Drive and West 11th Street.
“Mr. Hall was at work, trying to earn a living as a father of three children when he was shot and killed during what appears to be an attempted armed robbery,” the release states. “There are people out there that know what happened and who did this. We hope that some of those people will come forward with what they know. We cannot get those children their father back, we do hope to offer answers.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the Tifton Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at (229) 382-3132.
