Traffic patterns different for Cairo High School, Southside Elementary

A pickup and drop off route for Southside Elementary. 

Grady County school officials ask that everyone slow down and check out the traffic patterns for each schools. Traffic patterns will be different at Cairo High School and Southside Elementary School.

Parent pick up and Drop off at Southside will move back to Hawk Lane. During this time, Hawk Lane will be one way, North.  

This will allow two lanes of traffic to enter the campus, turing left to go up to the cafeteria, four lanes of vehicles will allow more vehicles to load students.

Faculty and staff will be on hand to help assist loading and unloading vehicles. Once students are safely in vehicles, drivers will be directed to exit toward 4th Avenue SE.

During pick up and drop off, walkers should go to the main entrance of the school. Pedestrians should not be in the pick up/drop up line.

Southside buses will follow the same routine from last school year. Buses will arrive to campus from 5th Avenue SE, and line up along 3rd Street SE in front of the auditorium. Cars should not be on Third Street.

Syrupmaker Drive South (ROTC/Music Building) will be closed.

Teachers will be able to enter and travel along the street parallel to 5th Street, SE to the teachers parking lot. Parents will enter the student parking lot at the new entrance on 6th Avenue SE, turn left and go up to the College and Career Center, then between the ROTC Building and Music Building, and drop off students in front of the Media Center/Main Office. Parents will then exit onto 5th Street SE.

Students can enter the student parking lot by driving around the track, the entrance in front of the Grady Educational Center, or the new entrance on 6th Avenue SE.

Buses will continue to use Syrupmaker Drive North (by Science Wing).  Buses only are allowed on this portion of Syrupmaker Drive.
